As a result of this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Analyze, discuss, and recommend optimal surgical strategies for treating complex adult and pediatric spinal deformity conditions, including congenital, degenerative, and revision cases.
- Describe the rationale and techniques for using navigation and minimally invasive approaches for the deformity patient.
- Explain the rationale and indications for when to surgically manage spinal deformity anteriorly or posteriorly, and when to fuse and at which levels.
- Identify the various forms of spinal osteotomies which are able to correct various forms of spinal deformity from a posterior only approach, and explain when and how to perform these as safely as possible.
