Course Description

The Annual Scientific Conference of the Canadian Spine Society gives all attendees an overview of current spine care in Canada with a particular emphasis on operative management. The program will address both surgical and non-surgical treatment. There will be a specific focus on the transition in deformity care from the paediatric to adult patients.

Other topics will include degenerative disease, spinal cord injury, current concepts in malignancy management and mechanical back pain. There
will be presentations on surgical techniques, operative complications, epidemiology and a special session on the future of spine training and the place of spine surgery as a unique specialty. This highly interactive meeting offers the opportunity for vigorous discussion and debate that will stimulate thoughtful reflection on future treatment decisions.

Attendees completing this program will gain a better understanding of the Canadian perspective on the treatment of spinal disorders.
