Doctor Scott H. Kitchel is an orthopedic physician and surgeon specializing in the spine.
Dr. Kitchel received his medical degree from the University of Oregon Medical School in Portland, OR, completed his surgical internship at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio, TX, and his orthopedic residency at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio. His fellowship training in spine surgery was completed at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
In addition to being a highly-recognized practicing physician and surgeon, Dr. Kitchel is an active researcher, participating in clinical studies and presenting papers at a variety of medical, surgical, orthopedic, and sports medicine conferences. His commitment to continuing education keeps him abreast of the latest technologies and techniques related to adult and pediatric spine surgery.
He is a popular lecturer and medical faculty member. He has served as a faculty member and supervisor to orthopedic residents at Oregon Health Sciences University, an attending physician at Shriners Hospital and a visiting professor at the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Kitchel founded Orthopedic Spine Associates in 2002 to focus on his specialty of adult and pediatric spine surgery. In his spare time he enjoys travel, fly fishing, Christian service, and University of Oregon athletics.
